Yippeeeeee!! Bound Buttonholes Here I Come!
Let me start off by saying I hate making bound buttonholes. Actually, the more accurate thing to say would be I don't make bound buttonholes. If making a perfect bound buttonhole had been a requirement for graduation, I might not have the fashion design degree I have today. That all being said, I love the way bound buttonholes look. Awhile back I read a post about the Dritz Bound Buttonhole Maker. Of course, they aren't being made anymore. So, I've been watching them on ebay, but mostly they go for crazy prices. Apparently, I'm having another lucky ebay day, because I just won one that was part of a lot of random sewing notions for only $12.51!!! Hoping it'll prove to be as wonderful a gadget as everyone says!

Oh gosh, I feel your pain! HATE doing bound buttonholes
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you have a fashion design degree! How cool!! :) I feel your pain with the bound button holes too! They've made me curse, throw things and cry. I learned to bind button holes and eyelets by hand when I made Elizabethan costumes but that was so tedious! I think I'll need to hunt down one of these little doo-dads.
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Lady! I can't believe I hadn't seen your blog yet, how exciting! I am so psyched to chat about this sewing, it is a brain scrambler. I just had a little "tutorial" with my patternmaker last week on this very topic, my bound buttonholes look like a one eyed chicken made them! Progress, not perfection, right? :.)
ReplyDeleteFast seller! The package went out today! Yay! Hopefully, I'll be able to report back soon on how it goes.
ReplyDelete@Brittany: Yep. Although, most of my designing has been virtual the last few years. I have an alias. ;) It's been nice getting back to using actual fabric and thread instead of just Photoshop and Maya.
@nudeedudee: Hi! I love chatting about sewing! It's so much fun seeing how other people put things together. I adore your work and am so excited you've stopped by my little blog! That pretty much sums up how my bound buttonholes look!
